The painting Pins (executed around 1897-1899) by Henri-Edmond Cross was sold on 6 March 2024 at Sotheby's in London (lot 35 of the Modern & Contemporary Evening Auction).
This oil on canvas (60 x 81 cm) was auctioned for the sum of £723,900.
Bonhams (London):
Auction of an oil on major canvas by Albert Dubois-Pillet (Queens-Marguerites in a Vase, October 11, 2024).
On October 11, 2024, Bonhams sold in London the oil on canvas by Albert Dubois-Pillet entitled exactly Queens-Marguerites in a jar on the edge of a window (August 1885) for £102,000 including costs.
Artwork Details
Artist: Albert Dubois-Pillet (1846-1890), co-founder of the Salon des Indépendants.
Exact title: Queens-marguerites in a pot on the ledge of a window (painted in August 1885).
Origin and context: Vacation "Impressionist & Modern Art" at Bonhams New Bond Street in London.
History: The work had a direct and uninterrupted provenance, having been originally acquired by its first owner, Augustin Durastel de Rocheblave, directly from the artist.
Hotel Drouot — SVV Delon-Hoebanx (Paris):
Sale of an unpublished landscape by Albert Dubois-Pillet included in the catalogue raisonné (November 2019).
On November 8, 2019, the Delon-Hoebanx auction house sold to the Hôtel Drouot a Forest Landscape (painted around 1884, oil on canvas, 81.2 x 65.4 cm) by Albert Dubois-Pillet.
This unpublished work then became part of the artist's catalogue raisonné directed by Pascal Offenstadt.
